Lombardo Associates has been the Engineer of Record for wastewater systems with capital costs totaling over $100 million. Representative projects are:
 
1. Mayo, Maryland
$60 million decentralized wastewater management project consisting of:
  • large communal 0.9 million gallons-per-day system consisting of septic tank effluent collection, recirculating sand filters, bulrush and peatconstructed wetlands, UV disinfection and aquatic vegetation offshore (in Chesapeake Bay) wetland, serving 2,400 homes
  • Cluster septic tank effluent collection leachfield serving 100 homes
  • on-site systems rehabilitation serving 100 homes  Growth management integration was an important aspect of this project.

2. Oriskany Falls, NY
$5 million project serving 900 residents and major hospital products manufacturer consisting of septic tank effluent collection, recirculating sand filters, and UV disinfection discharging to a nearby creek.
 
3. Woodstock, NY
$15 million project consisting of community system of septic tank effluent collection, oxidation ditch, and UV disinfection, and renovation of 200 on-site wastewater systems. Growth management integration was an important aspect of this project.
 
4. Bass River Township, NJ
$2 million project for a 96-home development consisting of septic tank effluent collection and leachfield.
 
5. New England Realty Apartment Complexes - MA
Replaced septic systems serving apartment complexes in Foxboro and Acton
 
6. Cape Cod Condominiums - MA
Engineered communal septic system serving 22-home association with
failing septic systems and restrictions on property use.
 
7. Central Hudson Gas & Electric - NY
Engineered and installed wastewater system to treat domestic and process wastewaters at power generating facility. Wastewater system consisted of the innovative use of coal bottom ash as the medium in a recirculating
sand filter and UV disinfection facility discharging to the Hudson River.
 
8. Wilder Manley – CT
Engineered an RBC treatment system with UV disinfection, discharging to a mounded leachfield in a difficult soils location, for a shopping center with a failing wastewater system.
 
9. Merion Blue Grass Sod Farm – NY
Engineered septage land application system.
 
10. Water Supply Treatment - Confidential Client, MA
Engineered water treatment system consisting of multimedia filtration,
UV disinfection, and carbon filtration for an impaired water supply used
for drinking water and swimming pool.
